This course walks through Zimbabwe's data protection legal framework - the Cyber and Data Protection Act [Chapter 12:07], SI 155 of 2024, and the constitutional right to privacy - and explains what it means in day-to-day practice at Telecontract. It covers key definitions, the roles of data controller, processor and Data Protection Officer, the seven data protection principles, lawful bases for processing, data subject rights, and the duties and penalties organisations face under the Act.

The second half shifts from law to practice: the cyber threats organisations face today (phishing, ransomware, social engineering), real-world breach case studies, and the technical safeguards - encryption, digital signatures, user behaviour analytics, and layered security controls - that turn legal obligations into operational reality.
